Overdraft Coverage
Wednesday, April 21st, 2010Your Chase Checking account has a feature called Chase Debit CardOverdraft CoverageSM that may allow debit card purchases to be
approved, at our discretion — even if there isn’t enough money in
your account at that moment.
It offers you some great advantages:
Convenience - May allow your debit card purchases to be
approved when you have insufficient funds
Flexibility - May allow you to make a purchase even if
you can’t make a deposit or transfer money until later that
same business day
A Safety Net - May cover you if you have an unexpected
expense – like a car tow
Emergency Backup - May allow you to use your debit card
in an emergency – even if you don’t have enough money in
your account
Beginning August 15, 2010, we will not be able to provide you with
Chase Debit Card Overdraft Coverage for everyday debit card
transactions — automatically. But you can keep your debit cardworking
as it currently does simply by saying “Yes.”
If you overdraw your account and don’t make a deposit or transfer
that same business day, you’ll pay a $35 fee each time you use your
debit card without sufficient funds in your account. The most you
would be charged is 3 fees per day, no matter how many times you
use your debit card.
No Fee to keep Chase Debit Card Overdraft Coverage on
your account.
No Fee if you accidentally overdraw, but make a deposit or
transfer that same business day to cover your debit card
purchases.
No Fee if you never use it.
